In my search for stats yesterday, I came upon this page from the US government. It lists ‘U.S. Citizen Deaths from non-natural causes, by foreign country’. It’s just one big table, with countries, causes of death and locations. The list is both clinical and provocative–each line in the table has a story behind it. Whether it’s a homicide in MAROON TOWN, JAMAICA or a terrorist action in KIRYAT ARBA, ISRAEL, I want to know more.
That is (morbidly) fascinating. You might be able to draw some conclusions from it, too. Like if you’re American and depressed, don’t go to Taiwan, you’re likely to commit suicide :p

I’m baffled by the 4 deaths in Canada for which the cause is listed as “Natural Disaster.” The Kokanee deaths were avanches, maybe? The North Bay and Mississauga natural disaster deaths are more suspect. I don’t recall any of those sorts of things recently here in Ontario.
