Vancouver Blogger Meetup

Last week, Colene suggested that we have a little, informal blogger meetup here in Vancouver. So, we’re organizing one. A little drinky-drink, a little talky-talk. The usual. Here are the details:

Thursday, July 15 any time after 8:00pm 7:30pm (for the early risers and suburban folk).
Morrissey Irish House, 1227 Granville St – here’s a map (PDF)

Look for me, I guess. If you haven’t met me, note the photo at left. If you’ve got a weblog, or want to have a weblog, or are some kind of weblog groupy (which, frankly, is a little sad), come on down and have a pint. Tell your bloggy friends.

after 8pm? don’t you people have jobs?

Reply

heather: yes, but even people with jobs don’t usually go to bed until after 8pm… :)

darren: I will strive to be there!

I can’t make it on the 15th, but thanks for the invite :)

Good luck with the meetings! Montreal bloggers have been meeting every first Wednesday of the month for the last two or three years. Last night was the biggest gathering ever: 26 people showed up. “Paris Carnet”, a blogger meeting in Paris held every first Wednesday as well, had more than 50 people meeting in a pub last night.

I gotta go with heather, for those out of town (abbotsford in my case) 8 is a bit late…. I’ll try to make it though.

oh, i’ll be there, but mostly because col will disown me completely if i don’t go.

guilt is an effective motivator.

So far, looks good for me to be there. Never know what will come up, but I’ll put it in my datebook – only to be bumped by events that will earn me money.

I have a job.. I have to get up @ 5:30.. and after 8 sounds fine with me.

Thanks for the invite, but I won’t be able to make it down – have to work the next day and I am still 4 hours away from you folks. However, keep me posted and I will try and coordinate my next trip down to the big city.

How’d you find me anyway?

I’d love to join you, but I’ll be soaking my feet in the hot pools at Harrison that evening.

Have fun!

Really now, is it any sadder to be weblog groupy than to be a member of an incestuous circle that reads each other blogs?

Voyeristic perhaps, but sad? I don’t think so.

I’m 80/20 on showing up…I’ll give it a go. The Morrissey’s a great pub.

I’ll be there!

Ugh, bad timing for me. I will be, with many other Vancouver gamer-bloggers, in Edmonton for Fragapalooza.

I’ll be there too. In the past I’ve participated in one other Vancouver Weblogger meetup event where — to my surprise — I turned out to be the only participant. Looks like that won’t happen this time. :-)

I don’t know any of you but I’d like to come if I can make it!

Hah! I’ll be there! The last blogger meetup I went to was a disaster, but hey.. maybe this one won’t be?

After all, Darren.. you haven’t seen my bald head yet!

Er.. wait.. I gotta meet up with Peanut that night, who is a former Vancouver blogger visiting from a land far away. Maybe she’ll want to go? I’ll see!

Vancouver Blogger Meetup

I may or may not be attending, but in case you missed the announcement… Darren’s organizing a Vancouver blogger meetup. July 15th. See his post for details….

I told work I was unavailable for that evening, so I’ll be there. Only if I get to pat Devon’s bald head for luck, though.

Pat nothing, I’m rubbing that badboy.

Thanks for the invite! I’ve got stuff to do Thursdays, but maybe I’ll stop in to see if anyone’s still there afterwards. Cheers.

Talked to Peanut.. and I’ll be there. With bells on. Er, maybe not bells.

drat.

I was hoping to go to a burlesque show last night. Alas, they sold out. No suicide girls for me. Instead, I cleaned my room and did laundry. Fascinating, isn’t it? But tonight, busy night! First, I must go rockclimbing. Then, I go see Day Theory for “o…
