42 Ways To Say “Broken
Somewhat inexplicably, Tim Bray has been collecting ways to say “broken”. I sent him my favourite, ‘jacked’, but haven’t seen it included or rejected yet. My favourite on his list is one I learned Ireland, ‘gone pear-shaped’.

My first thought was “banjaxed”. But yer man has mysteriously disqualified that entry.
My second thought was, “Only forty-two? That has to be out by at least an order of magnitude.” (i.e., ten times that number might start to dispense with the most obvious terms).
A couple that come to mind are:
“working to spec” (based on my experience as a tech-writer and tester)
“a MicroSoft product” (say no more)
Cheers
