A Few Good Blogs

I’ve mentioned some of these before, but they continue to be rewarding places for specific subjects:

  • Moxie chronicles “the process of developing, financing, starting, and maintaining a small, independently-owned, art-house theater”. That’s something I’d love to do some day. It’s funny, well-written and stays on-topic.
  • Canadian Headhunter is a job about the recruiting industry. I don’t need a job, but I do occasionally hire people, so he makes for good reading. Today he referenced this technical writer who’s started a weblog to get himself a job. CH’s critique is right on. Dude, replace that photo–it looks like the last known shot of a suspected terrorist.
  • My sisters’ father and step-mother (whew) are sailing around the world. They’re currently in Tonga.
  • Heather at Microsoft always has interesting things to say about HR at a big company. Today she cites an insightful article on company morale.
  • Jeff MacIntyre (is your site b0rked, Jeff?) writes to point me to this weblog of the Vancouver International Film Festival.

Comments: One Response so far

viff at last

Nearly a week in, I’m finally going to my first festival film tonight, Tony Takitani. I’m going to it based soley on the fact that it’s based on a short story by Haruki Murakami (not Murakami Haruki, as the viff guide would have it). …
