No Apple in Playboy

Gizmodo references the (literal) decloaking of Jessica Cutler, blogger and humpbuddy of Washington political insiders. She’s subsequently posed in Playboy (do you think that’s safe for work?) for a six-figure sum. This isn’t of particular interest to me, but Gizmodo points out that Playboy has apparently Photoshopped out the Apple on the back of the iBook that Ms. Cutler is posing with.

This immediately reminded me of a Friends rerun I watched recently. It’s the one where Ross and that attractive fellow paleotologist get together after spending all night rewriting Ross’s speech, because it gets erased somehow (those darned computers!). Ross is working on a PowerBook, but there’s a square of greyish material covering the Apple logo.

That reminds me, I never actually saw the final episode of Friends. Did Ross go on that killing spree like I expected?

Jeez. The whole Washintonienne thing is just so… so… seedy.

Following the links, she got six figures for the Playboy shoot, and a cool $300k advance for the book. I read her blog way back when, and she can’t write that well.

It’s enough to make me all depressed. And then I see that you’ve blogged about Madonna. Well, not really about Madonna, but in the neighborhood.

I don’t remember anything about a killing spree, although Ross certainly did have a little anger problem he’d been dealing with.
He and Rachel gave in to the inevitable and decided to live happily ever after as a conventional family.

No such spree, although Ross did have a nasty little anger problem he was dealing with.
The big draw was that he and Rachel at last–at last!–recognized the inevitable and decided to be a happy little nuclear family together.
