Childe Roland to the Beer Tower Came

Ah, the serendipity of Flickr RSS feeds for tags. This photo of Boris and Roland worshipping at a tower of beer showed up in my feed for the tag ‘Vancouver’. They appear to have a lot of work ahead of them, but if you’ll note a later photo, they made excellent progress. Where does one find such a tower? In case you’re wondering, the title of this entry comes from this Robert Browning poem.

That would be the infamous tower of (somethingorother) at Fogg & Suds.

That was the first one. We had a second. Both were good, although the every-foamy Granville Island Hefeweizen (German for “wheat beer”) was tastier than the lager.

Love the Granville Island Hefeweizen!

Although I’m sorry I didn’t buy another case of it and take advantage of the freebie glass offer that they had for a limited time at the BCLDB stores earlier this summer.

I just bought a six-pack of Granville Island Winter Ale and am hoping for good things!

I’m sure there’s a story behind the saga of “The Two Towers (of Beer)”. Probably involving Hobbits.

Or little magic pixies.

Or pink elephants.
