Rent Me on eBay

Last week, the always-inventive Jeremy Wright did an interesting thing. He offered his blogging services up on eBay. Here’s his press release on the subject, which is getting some quality play. He started at the flimsy sum of US $100 for three months of blogging (5-10 posts a week), but with roughly five and a half days left in the auction, he’s up to US$500.

This sounded like a great idea. My clients pay me to blog already, so why not hop on Jeremy’s coattails? I emailed him and asked him, and he said it was all right. Now you can rent me on eBay, too.

Thanks to Jeremy’s experience, I’ve priced my auction starting at US $500. That’s a pretty paltry sum, frankly, but this is as much about the idea as it is about cold, hard cash. Worst case scenario: no one bids on me, and I’m out five bucks on the eBay listing. As you’ll see in my auction, I credit Jeremy a couple of times and link to his auction.

I am keeping track of both Darren’s and Jeremy’s blogging services auctions on my blog. I will be adding daily bidding updates for both bloggers, to help raise the bidding.

The current level of $500.00 USD is incredibly cheap, in my opinion.

Another Blogger for Hire on EBay

Friday we mentioned that Jeremy Wright was auctioning his blogging services on ebay - today we note that another blogger has joined him. Darren Barefoot has also started an auction on ebay - but instead of starting at $100 he’s…

you guys should just bid on each others auction - get it up really high (which will get some big publicity). Get both up to say $10,000 - and then at the end neither of you is out of pocket - but you’ve got all the publicity….

sorry - I’m being devious….

Problem is we’d be out 300$ in eBay fees for a 10K sale ;-)

This is an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. Although I don’t think I’ll be the winning bidder for long, at least for now I’ve got myself an excellent deal. Let’s get this auction started !
