Stair Rails for Bikes

Nick Aster runs a nifty site on urban planning called Beyond Brilliance, Beyond Stupidity. It’s two blogs, side-by-side, one describing great urban innovations, and the other describing idiotic developments in the same field. Today I read about San Francisco’s BART stations, and how they offer “rails on the staircases to BART stations so that commuters on bikes don’t have to shoulder them to get up and down the stairs.” I discovered this site when Nick referenced my entry on Victoria’s cool signal box maps.
