Cowboy Junkies at the Orange Lounge

I have no idea what the Orange Lounge is, but here’s a great recorded webcast of my favourite band in the world, the Cowboy Junkies. Sympatico did everything right here: the video and audio quality are great (for the Web), you can click (or copy!) a link in a side column to hear a particular song or interview section, and there are no ads (in the video, or surrounding the player frame). There’s no studio audience, but they manage to not make it too weird.

The Slide is a gorgeous lullaby that concludes the new album. Tired Eyes is a talky Neil Young cover, recorded for this great album, that I’ve never seen them do live. Margo Timmons gives a decent, genuine-sounding interview (she’s had plenty of practice). She speaks about what it is to be a singer and a mother, and how much she likes talking to fans after the show.
