Helping Hand Canada
Nick writes to point me to Helping Hand Canada:
Because of the gravity of events in South Asia this site will for the time being focus primarily on information that is relevant to helping the relief effort there.
Our hope is that the site can increase the awareness of the devastation and the need for individuals, communities and companies to pledge their support.
I’ve been amazed by the global response to the disaster–it must be one of the largest aid mobilizations in history. I’d be curious to see a site that aggregates all of money and effort being raised and distributed in southeast Asia. I actually heard an interview with somebody from Medecins Sans Frontieres who said that they’ve got more money than they can spend on this disaster. He didn’t want to mislead people in thinking that further money donated to MSF would be spent on the Tsunami disaster.
