Just a quick note to point people at the remarkable array of prizes we’ve gathered for the Business Blogging Awards. Everyone who’s donated prizes thus far has been very generous.
Additionally, we’re soliciting more nominations. In particular, there are some categories which have proved less popular. If you care to make some nominations, now’s the time. They close on January 24.
And now pray tell me, are the judges expecting that these blogs will have been established for any considerable period of time? Or can I start one, say, tomorrow and enter it?
Well, you’d probably want to enter the ‘New Blog’ category then. We’ll have the judges vet all of the nominees, to ensure they’re active and have been for at least a few months. That’s long enough to have an impact. Steve Rubel shot to the top of the PR bloggers in that period.
So when is the judging going to happen? I was trying to figure these things out from the website there, but maybe I read too fast and skimmed over it.
Er, rather, I see that something should be happening either on the 20th or the 24th but this makes me confused about how I could enter a blog that I start, oh say tomorrow, and have it be a viable entry.
This entry (its formatting is kind of b0rked), describes the timeline. Basically, we’re accepting nominations until the 24th. Between the 24th and the 26th, the judges will reduce the nominees down to 3-6 blogs were category. Voting goes from Jan. 26 to Feb. 9.
There’s already a decent-sized list of nominees for Best New Business Blog, so you’d want to be pretty stellar in the next 96 hours. Of course, I’d expect no less from you.
