Final Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Trailer

As I referenced the other two, here’s the third (and presumably final) HGTG trailer. It’s an amusing, post-modern take on movie trailers. Best casting decision: Stephen Fry as the book (though Alan Rickman as Marvin ranks a close second). Things I’m encouraged by in this trailer:

  • The Vogons still look great.
  • There’s a brief glimpse of a sperm whale reaching terminal velocity.
  • The effects look pretty astonishing.

    This is raising my hopes that they won’t screw it up. These hopes will of course be cruelly dashed about 3 minutes into the real thing, they always are.
