The Kazakhstani Luge Team Needs a Blog

Believe it or not, that’s a phrase I may actually hear. My company Capulet Communications recently became an approved vendor for the 2010 Olympics here in Vancouver. The application process was pretty arduous–it required a great deal of scanning, photocopying, typing and filing. I can accept very little of the credit–Lindsay and Julie did the lion’s share of the work. Nonetheless, we were accepted in all three categories in which we applied–communications, business writing and weblog development.

2010 is a long way off, and who knows if we’ll ever get called, but I was amused by the prospect of setting up a weblog for, say, a Norwegian biathlon coach. Of course, Kris Krug may have beat us to it, as he’s offering all that bloggy stuff to Olympians for free. At least, there’s no sign of commerce at this stage.

I wonder how many athletes/staff will actually be able to use a blog during the Olympics. There are usually nasty restrictions on what they can say or publish.

If you need a writer of any sort, I’d be more than happy to offer my services. That would be fun!
