Blogging the London Bombings
After waking up and learning about the bombings on CBC this morning, the first place I went online was Flickr. Then Technorati and the BBC. Via Steve Rubel and sundry others, here’s a list of links to and quotes from news from the blogosphere:
- The Reporter’s Log from the BBC - “Even though the cordons have begun to come down, any attempts to walk around are hampered by continuing security alerts.”
- Photo pool on Flickr - Oddly, there are lots of shots of TV screens. I suppose if people can’t go out, or get home, they’re going to photograph what they can. 242 photos and counting. I particularly liked this one.
- Ongoing updates from Matthew Sheffield.
- MetBlogs in London has lots of posts - “It has been just been reported by the Met Police that the Casualty Bureau Hotline is still unusable due to a malfunction. They continue to work to resolve this.”
- First-hand accounts emailed in to the BBC.
- Some photos and a report from a London blogger.
- Here’s the first photo I’ve seen from the Tube after the bombing.
- A little British wit to lighten the mood.
