Things went so swimmingly at Northern Voice last February that we decided to do it again. Check out this entry on the new (all blue) Northern Voice 2006 site for all the details. Here’s the upshot of the deal:
- It’s a two-day conference now, with Friday being a self-organizing thingy in the tradition of Foo Camp and Bar Camp. Saturday will be similar to last year’s conference. You can register for either or both days.
- It’s going to be Friday, February 10 and Saturday, February 11.
- It’s slightly more expensive than last year, but still absurdly cheap at CAN $30 for either day or $50 for both.
- It’s back at UBC Robson Square.
- We’re seriously considering holding a potluck dinner on the Friday night.
The site’s still a little rough around the edges, but go take a look, and tell your friends.
What software powers the NV site?
Aaron – looks like Drupal.
Darren, tried to sign in with TypeKey, but TypeKey said that your site isn’t configured to use it…
Indeed, it’s a hosted implementation of Drupal hosted by the good people at Bryght.
Yeah, I must sort out that TypeKey business. Sorry about that.
Good stuff Darren, looking forward to the conference!
WOO! I’m excited already! (Though I’m not sure if the number of Starbucks in Vancouver or the conference itself is more exciting….)
Thankfully, your announcement came just before we booked dates for our annual family trip, which foiled my attendance of the first one. Now I’ll plan around it.
Awesome news DB.
Forget pot luck dinners, let’s just have a big game of Roly Poly Soccer in the February rain!
Dan, Darren – thanks for the tip on Drupal. It looks like I amy be able to use it over at http://www.albertablogs.com to aggregate the blogroll member posts into one blog, much like Jay Currie has done with http://www.info-syn.com
