The Coolest Way to Find an Apartment in Vancouver

Via Monsieur Dvorak, I discovered this remarkable mashup of Craigslist and Google Maps. Hmm…I’m pretty sure I’ve written about something like this before. Indeed, it’s the same project, just gussied up and with its own URL.

Regardless, it’s pretty cool. Plus, they addressed my complaint–you can now link to individual searches. For example, here are all the properties listed in Vancouver between $1500 - $2000. It’s a pity Craigslist doesn’t have more structured data, so that I could filter by building type or square footage.

Check out Rental Monster, which does the same thing, except you have have RSS feeds for price and location. They appear to be ’screen-scraping’ Craigslist but also let people (i.e. landlords) post rental listings.

I wish there was a mashup with MLS.ca, it has way more content. :(
