I take it that the Oscars are this Sunday. That only gives you two days to make your zaney selections in ye olde Oscar contest. Here’s who I think will win on the big night:

Best Picture: Crash
Best Director: Ang Lee for Brokeback Mountain
Best Actor: Philip Seymour Hoffman for Capote
Best Actress: Reese Witherspoon for Walk the Line
Best Supporting Actor: Jake Gyllenhaal for Brokeback Mountain
Best Supporting Actress: Michelle Williams for Brokeback Mountain
Best Original Screenplay: Crash - Paul Haggis
Best Adapted Screenplay: Brokeback Mountain - Larry McMurtry
Cinematography: Brokeback Mountain
Editing: Munich
Art Direction: Memoirs of a Geisha
Costume Design: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Original Score: Brokeback Mountain
Original Song: “Travelin’ Thru” - Transamerica - Dolly Parton
Best Sound: King Kong
Best Visual Effects: King Kong
Best Animated Feature Film: Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

    Darren: not sure Crash will win.
    I suspect they will give the “Best Picture” Oscar to Brokeback Mountain. Otherwise, i agree with your predictions

    Todd: Note that I’m talking about who will win, not who should win. The Academy is rarely controversial, so I figure they’re likelier to go with the-movie-about-race than the-movie-about-gay-cowboys.

    You did well Darren, but you fell in the supporting acting categories where Brokeback was overlooked. Also, Munich won nothing,
