The Dawson College Shooter’s Goth Blog
The Dawson College shooter was named Kimveer Gill. He kept a blog on site called Vampire Freaks, which looks like MySpace for the Goth set. This CBC article quotes his blog.
Here’s a cached version of his home page, his journal and a big photo gallery (”I want to smile but I can’t”) — I’ve removed these links because they were broken.
For all intents and purposes, it’s like a million other goth, overly-serious teenage blogs. Gill’s five favourite movies:
V for Vendetta
Romeo and Juliet
Edward Scissorhands
The Crow
Bram Stokers Dracula
From his journal:
Woke up 30 minutes ago. I hate having to wait for my contact lens cases to air dry, cuz’ they’re just sitting on my desk now, looking messy and all.
Lemme go see what’s to eat……….
eggs and toast. yum.
On the one hand, you page through his site and there’s obvious images of guns and death. On the other hand, those images are pretty common among young men. How do you tell the innocuous goth kid from the killer?
UPDATE: As a commenter notes below, Google has removed the cached copy of Gill’s site, and VampireFreaks.com has removed his profile. I did grab a copy of one page of Gill’s journal, which you can see here. Note that most or all of the links off this page will not work–it’s just a one-page snapshot.
