My Friend Called in Sick Last Week
She called her office, and took the day off with the following news:
“Last night I broke my 22 year record for not throwing up. It wasn’t pretty.”
22 years? That’s amazing. It’s also amazing that she remembers the lasts time she hurled. Given how rare it was, though, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

22 years doesn’t surprise me too much. The only time I’ve hurled in the past, I dunno, 16 years, have been alcohol-related, and even that was only 4 times, none in the past 3 or 4 years. Since I’m not much of a drinker any more, I can see myself hitting 10, barring any deadly plauges.

Wasn’t there a Seinfeld episode that concerned Jerry’s record for not throwing up?

There was. The Dinner Party.
How do these people avoid food poisoning or other viral/bacterial ailments?

Wow. And I was so proud of myself for my 17-year record, tragically shattered in 2003 by a crab-and-artichoke dip at an Abbotsford restaurant.

In my whole 24 years on this Earth of ours, I remember throwing up twice. Ever. One was with a stomach flu, and the other was related to alcohol and jumping up and down.

I think I’m getting towards 20 years. I don’t remember the last time I barfed, but it was in the 1980s.
There have been many times when I’ve wanted to throw up, but couldn’t. Maybe I don’t know how. Maybe if I watched more daytime TV.
