Related question: does it change a movie’s rating if the swear words are bleeped out and the nudity pixellated?
My blog earned an “R” rating based on a total of three words which occurred a total of six times, and included the word “bastard”–a legal term.
However, I suspect they’re not set up to analyze the words $#!7 or £µ©λ, for example.
So while my idea and intent comes across clearly, the censors miss it completely, it seems, no matter how direct or “obscene” it may be.
I would have loved to have my blog get at least a single-X.
