Speaking of North American sports, I’m pleased to announce that tomorrow morning I’m going to hit our local pub for lunch and, thanks to the North American Sports Network, watch Toronto play New York. At ice hockey. Amusingly, the pub is called “Rangers”, so I’m going to Rangers to watch the Rangers.

Coincidentally, we just finished watching season 1, and I’m busy downloading season 2. I really appreciate the acting on the show, which is top notch. And it’s just the right length, at 30 minutes (as opposed to 22, which would be too short, and 42, which might be a bit long).
I heard the best line of my 2007 TV-watching in the final episode of season one, when Mary-Louise is talking to her dealer about who beat up somebody who stole her weed:
Heylia: I’m sure you didn’t tell him to go down to that school and beat the tar out of little mr .security guard, but you blinked them big brown eyes and there he go, and I can’t have that.
Nancy: You did that?
Heylia:: Who you think done it? The fuck-you-up fairy?

Richard I’ve always wondered why they don’t lateral more in american football. I mean I can see why you wouldn’t normally - the penalty for fumbling is just too great, but when it’s your only chance to score at the end of the game we should always see something like that :)

I watched the first six episodes of Season 2 this weekend. It just keeps on getting better and better. I also love that it goes where other tv shows just hint at going. Weeds actually goes over the top.
