Glad to see you haven’t forgotten your roots living the island life in Malta. It ought to be mandatory for Canadian bloggers to post something on Remembrance Day. Good work.

I read in the paper today that Remembrance Day is called Poppy Day in Malta.

Jonathon: Indeed. We wanted to get out to a service this morning but the crazy high winds made it unviable. I got that poppy locally–that’s why it looks different.
Remembrance Day is perhaps more poignant on Malta, because this land was hotly contested during World War II. They suffered under a bombing campaign that was far longer and more intensive than the London Blitz.
