For the Vancouver Locals: Two Plays to See
Just a quick public service announcement in support of the local arts scene. Two plays that sadly, I probably won’t get a chance to see:
- The Electric Company, maybe Vancouver’s most exciting theatre company, is putting on ‘a live-cinematic interpretation’ of Sartre’s No Exit at the Centre for Digital Media (wear a coat, it’s a big, cold aircraft hangar).
- Touchstone Theatre is producing “The Dissemblers”, a new play by Jason Bryden. Directed by and starring three ex-UVic classmates of mine, it sounds like a good time. It’s at Granville Island’s PTC Studio.
Both shows run from May 1 to 10.

Darren, do you still write plays? I remember you wrote one a couple of years ago called “Bolloxed” — I didn’t get to see the adaption but i heard it was good.

Bobby: I’m too busy at the moment, but I’ve always got ideas kicking around. In 2009, maybe.

Darren, I think you should suggest that people where a snow suit to the Centre for Digital Media. It’s more than just cold there - it’s freezing!
