Cover the Earth! With Paint!
These are signs from a paint store near our apartment. Maybe I’m just a tree-hugging leftie, but I’m not sure I would have gone with this slogan or image for my signs in eco-friendly Vancouver:

Given that the logo is over 100 years old I doubt that your PR disaster occurred to the creators. I also doubt that anyone who views the logo today believes that they want to actually cover the earth with paint.
