270 movies of 2010 in six minutes

You may have already seen this, as it’s (rightfully) the web’s favourite thing today.

Side note: it’d be cool to run a blog or Twitter feed called “The Web’s Favourite Thing” which posted once daily with the meme du jour. There are a lot of sites which broadcast a lot of popular webby stuff (I saw this video on Geekosystem), but few that curate very conservatively. Devour is one such site.

Anyhow, this is an artfully-edited illustration of most of Hollywood’s 2010 mainstream output. It’s terrific:

I am finding Tumblr is a great tool for curation. I like the idea of “The Web’s Favorite Thing” and if I was going to do something like that, I’d really give Tumblr a look.

Indeed, that’s close, though they seem restricted to video (at least that was the case when I navigated through the last few weeks). There’s no mention, for example, of Wikileaks.
