Yes, seems very sad that they could not finish the final show of the season. Or celebrate 50 years. I realize they have required funding for some time but seems tragic that a million dollars or whatever they need to make 50 years cannot be found in donations or sponsorship. Perhaps inevitable that it is a losing enterprise but the money needed to see the Playhouse through one more year would be chump change (and tax write-off) for many individuals or corporations in this city. Even in tough times.

It’s just the sad state of some of the lively arts in this city. They have always been the poor sisters to sports and booze and live theater is the poorest of them all.
