Webmustard.com, a leading Web services broker, purchased
an award from WebServicesAwards.com, naming them "Best
Web Services Company Ever". Webmustard.com updated its
Web site and sent out a press release.
Webmustard.com, based in Alice Springs, Australia, specializes
in micro-payment management for Web services. In an effort
to increase their visibility in the Web services community,
CEO Murray Phalanger, decided to buy the award. "Frankly,
things have been slower than a dead dingo's droppings since
last winter. We really needed a ping release to, you know,
keep us on the radar."

The coveted award

Phalanger consulted with his public relations team before going
ahead with the purchase. "We threw a bunch of ideas around--you
know, a press tour or maybe hosting some seminars or something.
Ultimately, those ideas all sounded like a lot of work. So, we called
up WebServicesAward.com. Crikey, they were right rapt to hear from
us!"

CEO Murray Phalanger and an unnamed marketing executive
The CEO scoffed at the cost of the award. "Look, we've got
all this VC money, right. And it don't cost a lot to build software
outside in the desert. So we figured, ace, let's splurge."
On updating the Web site, Phalanger said, "that took a while.
It turns out the Webmaster got bit by a red-bellied black snake
yesterday. His hands swelled up like balloons. He's a real trooper,
though. He just typed with a pencil in his mouth."
